Hospitality in the Household of God

The mission of this website page is to support households in reclaiming the ancient practice of hospitality and creating contemporary expressions of spiritual practices for the home and community.

These words signal our intent to embrace, to welcome, to care for, to cherish those who cross our threshold. The threshold can be literally the doorway to our home, to an event in our lives, or to our heart. In this case we are welcoming you to explore with us the ancient practice of hospitality. This exploration will include seasonal activities, literature reviews, shared stories and essays as we seek to find ways to express this in our contemporary lives.

"Hospitality means we take people into the space that is ourselves...It is the first step toward dismantling the barriers of the world. Hospitality is the way we turn a prejudiced world around one heart at a time.ä From Wisdom Distilled from the Daily: Living the Rule of St. Benedict Today by Joan Chittister.
